If you operate equipment that does not drive on the highways, then you can avoid paying highway taxes by purchasing Off Road Diesel (also called “Red Diesel”).
Tractors, generators, front end loaders, bulldozers and other machinery can use Red Diesel.
Red Diesel is the same as Clear (on road) Diesel except it has been dyed which makes it exempt from highway taxes.
Tax free Off-Road (dyed or red) Diesel fuel used for construction equipment, generators, reefers/refrigerators and agricultural equipment delivered directly to your site.
We can deliver tax free dyed diesel in large and medium quantities to your location.
On-Site Tanks/ loaner tank for dyed diesel/ generator fuel are not provided at this time.
Dyed diesel fuel may be purchased and used only for the following purposes
(a) Use on a farm for farming purposes.
(b) Exclusive use of a local government.
(c) Use in a vehicle owned by an aircraft museum.
(d) Exclusive use of the American Red Cross.

We can also provide dyed diesel fuel in 55 gallon drums. Up to 10 drums of diesel fuel can be delivered on request. Check your generators fuel consumption and the fuel tank size for correct
quantity ordering.
Off-road diesel fuel is sold for use in vehicles and equipment that are not general operated on public roadways, such as those used on farms and railways, in construction, and for electric power generation. It is not subject to state and federal excise taxes that are applied to the retail sales of diesel fuel sold for vehicles generally operating on public roadways. This fuel is dyed red (as is heating oil) to distinguish it from on-highway diesel fuel.
To calculate a rough estimate for "off-road" diesel fuel prices, use the weekly retail on-highway diesel fuel prices and subtract federal and state Motor Fuels Taxes.
